Rest

Hi my loves! It’s been a few weeks since I wrote anything and to be honest it’s been a difficult couple of weeks. So I just wanted to do a short post for you guys today to say: It is okay to take a break!

I think we are so conditioned as a society to always be busy and climbing the ‘ladder’ whether that be in a job, with social media, personal growth etc.. don’t get me wrong I’m all about moving forward however I think we have to remind ourselves that we are going to slip backwards too. It’s inevitable. We can meet that backwards step with shame and guilt or we can provide compassion for ourselves. So today I share 5 self compassion sayings that you can repeat to yourself if you feel the guilt creeping in.

I am allowing my body to rest and that is okay.

I am able to have time to myself.

I deserve this.

I don’t have to be busy all the time.

Doing nothing sometimes is needed.

I am guilty of letting the shame get so far into my brain that it almost tints my vision. It makes the outside world appear different because I am stuck inside my own head. I often hear people talk about affirmations and I inwardly *sigh*. It won’t work I tell myself. It’s just words. It’s just rest. But actually words and rest are powerful and we can rewire out brains into stopping us feeling guilty for resting. I want to go more into this in later posts but this was a reminder post to be kind to yourself, whatever that means for you ❤
